RC4Magic Series 3 System ID Selection and LED Indication

Your RC4Magic Series 3 and RC4Magic-900 devices are programmed with four system ID codes. Three of those codes (ID0, ID1, and ID2) are unique to your system alone — when you select your ID0, it is not the same as another user’s ID0, ensuring different systems will never interfere with each other.  The remaining ID3 is the RC4 Public ID and is the same on all RC4Magic Series 2 and Series 3 devices every manufactured, allowing devices from different systems to be used together in the rare case where this is desired.

System IDs are selected with power-up button features as described near the top of http://rc4.info/s3-ui-nomenclature/:

  • Power-Up SetA selects ID0 (default)
  • Power-Up SetB selects ID1
  • Power-Up SetA+SetB Selects ID3 (public)

On devices with a SetC button:

  • Power-Up SetC selects ID2

On devices with a SetD button:

  • Power-Up SetD Selects ID3 (public)

NOTE: ID2 cannot be selected using OneTouch buttons on 2-channel devices that only have SetA and SetB buttons.  ID2 can be selected using RC4Commander Software and Dongle for remote configuration.

System ID is indicated on device power-up, regardless of whether a button is being pressed or not.  When a button is pressed, the newly selected ID is indicated.  Otherwise, the previously selected ID is indicated.

Immediately on power-up, the very first thing seen on the LEDs will be one of these:

  • Several blinks of RFdata (yellow) indicates ID0
  • Several blinks of COP (green) indicates ID1
  • Several blinks of both RFdata and COP together indicates ID2
  • Several alternating blinks of RFdata and COP indicate ID3 (public)

After this ID indication, LEDs proceed to running mode.  You must look at the LEDs on power-up to determine the selected ID.
