Simply put, a relay is an electronically operated switch. They open and close circuits electromechanically or electronically.  A relay is easily controlled with an RC4 dimmer set to the non-dim dimmer curve.  This curve avoids oscillation or buzzing in the relay by ensuring the channel can only be fully on or fully off.
