The DMXio transmits one full universe of dmx — up to 512 channels.

There is no limit to the number of receiver/dimmers that can connect with a DMXio, and there is no limit to the number of dimmers that can be assigned to a dmx channel.

If you are interested in using our RC4Commander software to configure RC4Magic devices remotely from a Mac or PC, every device must have a unique Unit Number over a range of 1 – 255.  In that case, you might want to limit yourself to 255 devices. Keep in mind that one dimmer device usually provides 2 or 4 dimmers.  Even that limit isn’t really a hard ceiling: if you have more than one device with the same Unit Number, don’t have them both powered up at the same time when you are sending configuration information.  At all other times it doesn’t matter in the slightest.
